This is a record that combines warped psychedelia, earth shattering doom and indie-rock into a style Turtle Skull call ‘flower doom’. It’s an exploration of our connections to the natural world, and to each other.
Turtle Skull have achieved something pretty special with this album. Their forward-thinking approach is a wonderful example of the creativity that marks the best of the Australian underground. The chance to help artists like them is exactly why I started Art As Catharsis all those years ago.
I want to give a huge congratulations to the band – Dean, Charlie, Dan, Julian, Tobia – and to Rachel, who played a big part behind the scenes. It’s been wonderful seeing you all grow between your debut and this release.
