‘Spirit Panther’ is an utterly unique piece of experimental, blackened hardcore.
Moonboat are difficult to define; blurring the boundaries between noise, hardcore and blackened post-metal. Beauty and dread come in equal measure; ethereal vocals soar over clanging guitars; piercing shrieks punctuate periods blackened fury; and in rare moments of reprieve, sonic textures wash over empty spaces.
The production of ‘Spirit Panther’ occurred in various locations across Australia and Japan. Moonboat utilised an experimental production process; recording semi-improvised jams then later glitching, looping, overdubbing and gradually transforming those original recordings.
The effect is as mesmerizing as it is unique.
