Art As Catharsis are proud to announce Milton Man Gogh’s ‘Stress To Impress’ album tour, and a new music video for the lead single ‘Fork (In A World Of Soup)’.
Milton Man Gogh are an experimental jazz trio from Brisbane, playing in the vein of Donny McCaslin’s and Mark Guliana’s quartets. But they often pull influence from unorthodox sources, like from Meshuggah, Aphex Twin and Bela Bartok.
New video for ‘Fork (In The World Of Soup)’
Recorded in a day in Brisbane with a team comprised of director Roman Albert, director of photography Shanahan Flanders, make-up artist Ngaire Lock and choreographer/dancer Yenenesh Nigusse, Milton Man Gogh allowed Roman to create his own interpretive vision of the music, using the completely white space to perfectly compliment the themes hidden within.
Milton Man Gogh are incredibly proud to release this video for the world to see and couldn’t be happier with how it represents their sound and philosophy. They’d like to thank Ngaire, Roman, Shanahan, Yenenesh, Ron Cottee and Lachlan from Art as Catharsis for their awesome contributions and support throughout.
‘(Fork) In a World of Soup” is taken from Milton Man Gogh’s debut album, Stress To Impress, released October 10th, 2017 through iconic experimental Sydney label, Art As Catharsis.

“Milton Man Gogh excel at creating a diverse palate of emotions through frequent but deliberate changes in phrasing and playing dynamics. The sludge-ridden double-bass lines and aggressive, percussive insanity juxtapose almost too-perfectly with the many genuinely beautiful moments which catch the listener entirely off-guard, simultaneously becoming aware of the goosebumps running down their arm and the single tear welling in their eye.”
